As part of the transformation of its technology platforms, a major player in the financial sector is looking to strengthen its IT operations department by recruiting a DBA & Database Architectures Manager.

The Database team, based in Paris, Dublin and Tokyo, administers fast-growing mission-critical environments.

The challenges are manifold: availability, performance, security, obsolescence, capacity planning, cloudification and cyber-resilience.

The position includes a strategic, managerial and operational steering role, within the Production Operations division (DBA, tools, engineering, supervision).

🎯 Role & Missions

As DBA Manager, you will manage an international team (5 to 10 people), and be responsible for the management, architecture and evolution of the group's critical databases.

Your key responsibilities:

• Manage and lead the DBA team (8 people in Paris, 2 in Dublin, 1 in Tokyo)
• Participate in the definition of target architectures in a multi-instance, cloud and international context
• Steering the operational management of platforms (MCO, performance, security, version upgrades, etc.)
• Ensure capacity planning, obsolescence management and system resilience
• Intervene in the event of a crisis or major incident, then implement corrective action plans
• Supporting transformation projects: Azure cloud, industrialization, Tier-1 customer platforms
• Advise project teams onquery optimization, basic design and best practices
• Manage the division's budget, participate in technology watch and tooling choices
• Work closely with tech leads, architects, infrastructure teams and production engineers

✅ Profile Wanted

• 10+ years' experience in IT, including 3+ years in technical team management
• Significant DBA experience on mission-critical databases
• In-depth knowledge of the following environments
  • Oracle (priority)
  • SQL Server, PostgreSQL
  • Sybase, MySQL/MariaDB, MongoDB
• Good knowledge of hybrid and cloud environments (Azure, GCP...)
• Master the challenges of performance, high availability, security and resilience
• Assertive leadership, rigor, ability to decide quickly
• Good communication skills with technical and non-technical contacts
• Knowledge of the finance/asset management sector is a plus
• Fluent English required (international team and contacts)
• Environments : Linux, Windows
• Available for occasional travel to Dublin (2x/year) and occasional travel to Germany

💼 Terms & Conditions

• Contract : Permanent contract
• Location: Paris
• Teleworking: Hybrid possible
• Fixed salary: €100k gross per annum
• Variable / Bonus: +10
• Profit-sharing: Approximately €15k / year
